Who we are

b1231.xyz is an independent game studio focused on strategy and eurogame-style experiences you can play in your browser. The B1231 Repository is our collection of original and adapted board-game-inspired titles—all free to play, no download or account required. We build games we want to play: thoughtful, decision-heavy, and respectful of your time.

What are eurogames?

Eurogames (or "designer board games") emphasize strategy, resource management, and meaningful choices over luck or direct conflict. Think games like those from Uwe Rosenberg, Stefan Feld, and modern hobby board gaming—tight rules, clear goals, and replayability. Our browser games take that spirit and make it playable on any device: desktop, tablet, or phone.

Why browser games?

We believe great strategy games don't need a big download or a powerful PC. By building in JavaScript and running in the browser, we keep the barrier to entry low: click a link, start playing. Many of our games also save progress locally in your browser so you can continue later. No servers to sign up for, no app store—just the game.

Our games

The B1231 Repository includes wartime infiltration (Where Eagles Dare) and mercenary ops (Wild Geese)—two browser tributes linked on screen by Richard Burton, who headlined the 1968 Alpine raid and the 1978 mercenary classic—as well as Roman-era farming and politics (Rusticus, Iacta), dynasty baseball (Baseball 21st Century), sinking kingdoms (Tidalborne), Vatican intrigue (Conclave), and more. New titles are added over time. Each game has its own mechanics and theme; we aim for variety so there's something for different tastes.

B1231 Film Festival

Alongside games, we host long-form watchable work in the B1231 Film Festival: musicals, experiments, and other pieces with in-browser playback. The catalog starts with Rome vs Persia and will grow over time.
